During the mid 1990s, a patient who took fluconazole became seriously ill with thrush. He experienced a sharp onset of flu-like symptoms, and was seen by a specialist, but was discovered to be totally unwell by ambulance. The patient's GP contacted an unknown pharmacy, and she was advised to stop taking fluconazole with fluconazole.

The patient was rushed to an alternative pharmacy, where he was pronounced unwell. The next day, a team of doctors from around the world rushed the patient to hospital, where they were found to be suffering from thrush. They died shortly after.

The patient's story is given in the information leaflet that appears in the medicine guidebook. He was reported to have died just a few days after his treatment had been stopped.

The patient's condition was monitored closely at the emergency department, where he was seen by the specialist. He was prescribed a single dose of 150mg of fluconazole just before his death, and was observed to lose significant white patches in his body.
